Unleashed Brands has been in arbitration with Tiffany Cianci over her accusation that her franchise agreement was unfairly terminated, among other things. At the same time, Ms. Cianci has been actively disparaging Unleashed Brands in the media, online and to our franchisees. This has cost hundreds of hours of time and focus that could have been better spent supporting our world-class brands.
On June 8th, 2023 the Arbitrator issued his ruling and Unleashed Brands has won.
- Our termination of Ms. Cianci’s franchise agreement was valid and justified.
- Our non-compete is enforceable and she must stop operating her competing business for two years.
- All TLGI manuals, content, social media pages, etc. must be immediately returned.
- As we are the prevailing party, she has been ordered to pay our attorneys’ fees and the costs of arbitration.
This ruling validates what Unleashed Brands has long asserted and is a win for all franchisees and franchisors in that it allows us to maintain the high standards in our Brands and ensures that our intellectual property remains proprietary.
We are happy with the ruling provided below but even happier that we can now turn 100% of our attention toward supporting our franchisees, building profitable gyms and delivering the best customer experience to our families.
